  • How does Portfolio by OpenRoad work?

    Members use the Portfolio app to request a vehicle to suit their needs, including when and where they would like to receive their vehicle flip. A Portfolio concierge will deliver the fresh vehicle, transfer everything over to the new car, and will ensure the member is all set to go. Our goal is to make sure all members have the perfect car for every occasion.

  • What is included in a Portfolio by OpenRoad subscription?

    Every Portfolio subscription includes rights to a vehicle full-time, insurance coverage, and personally delivered flips. The Portfolio concierge team delivers hand-detailed vehicles to members in the Vancouver area as requested. We take care of all maintenance and repairs, insurance, roadside assistance, and more, so members can focus on driving. Each plan affords flexibility with monthly kilometre and flip allotments. The Platinum Tier will include unlimited flips for the first group of members.

  • What vehicles are included with Portfolio by OpenRoad?

    Portfolio's Platinum tier offers a variety of vehicles from 9 brands, including luxury sedans, SUVs, and sportscars. The Portfolio fleet is always evolving to bring members the best vehicles for every lifestyle.

  • How does insurance work?

    All vehicles provided by Portfolio by OpenRoad are fully insured on a fleet insurance policy held by Portfolio by OpenRoad. All approved drivers are covered by the fleet insurance policy. Coverage highlights:
    $1,000 Major Damage Fee for any damage incurred over $1,000
    $3,000,000 liability coverage (combined single limit)

  • How long can I keep a vehicle?

    As long as you want! There are no restrictions on how long or how short your flips can be. Occasionally, when a vehicle has been with a member for many weeks, we might need to ask for it back so that we can do routine tasks like preventive maintenance. However, at worst we’ll flip you into a fresh vehicle that is just like the one you have. In practice, most members flip several times a month and enjoy doing so!

  • How new are the vehicles?

    Vehicles are all current and previous model year. Each vehicle is detailed before and after it ever goes to a member. Many of our members tell us that every vehicle feels like new.

  • How do I join Portfolio by OpenRoad?

    Download Portfolio in the iOS or Google Play app store. Visit here to send yourself an SMS download link. Follow the instructions to create an account. You will need to provide a credit card, select a plan and provide a picture of your driver’s license. We will verify your information and check your driving history. We may need to speak with you during that process. In most cases, we can approve an application within one business day. Then we will contact you to get you started and schedule your first flip!

  • Is Portfolio by OpenRoad in my area?

    Today, Portfolio by OpenRoad is live in Vancouver, BC. If you’re outside of Vancouver, sign up for news and updates and we will let you know when we arrive in your city.

    If you live outside the service area, we can help you find a convenient place to flip within the service area.

  • Who is eligible?

    Anyone 21 or over with a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license and a clean driving record.

  • What should I do with my old vehicle?

    Many Portfolio by OpenRoad members choose to sell their old vehicles.

    To ensure our clients have the best possible experience, allow one of OpenRoad's 23 dealerships to take this off of your hands.

    Simply let us know and one of our Product Specialists will contact you.

  • What is the Portfolio by OpenRoad activation fee?

    The $750 Portfolio activation fee is required for all new Portfolio by OpenRoad memberships. The fee is non-refundable and charged when your first delivery is scheduled. The monthly subscription fee is $2,499 per month for a 6 month commitment, $2,999 per month for a 3 month commitment, and $3,499 per month for a month to month commitment. All with the same unmatched access to our amazing Platinum fleet.

Everyday Usage

  • How well equipped are the vehicles?

    The majority of vehicles are equipped with a mid to high-end trim package. We cannot guarantee the availability of certain options.

  • Are pets allowed in vehicles?

    We do allow pets in the vehicles, but they must be transported in a crate. It is better for the car and safer for your furry friend!

  • What happens if my vehicle needs repair?

    Our goal is that you will never have to worry about maintenance or repair issues. If something unforeseen occurs, use thePortfolio by OpenRoad app to notify us and we will get you back driving!

  • What happens if I get into an accident?

    First, make sure that everyone is safe, get your vehicle to a safe place, exchange information with the other parties and notify the police. Once the situation is stabilized call us. We will bring you a fresh vehicle and handle everything with respect to the vehicle involved in the incident.

  • How much advance notice is required for a flip?

    While we ask for a 24-hour notice, the best experience is to book a few days in advance. Booking a vacation? Go ahead and book your flip too. Need something this afternoon? Don't stress, we will bring you the best option available.

  • Do I tip the concierge?

    Portfolio by OpenRoad does not allow tipping. Concierge delivery is part of the overall Portfolio member experience and included with the monthly subscription. If you have an exceptional Concierge experience feel free to reflect it in the service rating or by letting the team know.

Pricing & Payment

  • Where can I find the insurance card?

    View a digital version of your insurance card under “Your Current Ride” on the home screen of your Drive Portfolio by OpenRoad app. Hard copies of the insurance card can also be found in the glovebox.

  • What about fuel?

    All Portfolio by OpenRoad cars are delivered with a full tank of gas. We ask that members return flips with a full tank. If you flip a vehicle without a full tank, your concierge will refill the vehicle and add the charge to your account following your flip.

  • When is payment due?

    A valid credit card is required during sign up. Your first payment will be charged when we confirm delivery of your first vehicle. Subsequent payments will be charged on a monthly basis, in advance. Any additional charges for gas or upgrades will be charged as soon as the flip ends.

  • What is the minimum commitment to Portfolio by OpenRoad?

    Portfolio by OpenRoad is a monthly subscription service. Pay for the first 31 days and give it a try. If you like it, your subscription will renew automatically monthly after the first period. If you ever want to cancel, just let us know and we will end your subscription after your current month has expired.

  • Can I pause my subscription?

    Yes. Going out of town? Love Portfolio but need a break? Just pause your Portfolio by OpenRoad account and have one less monthly bill covering something you're not using for the time being. No lease or loan allows that! Pause your Portfolio by OpenRoad account for any number of days for a $200 convenience fee. Then pick right back up where you left off for no additional charge!

Terms of use

  • Is there a mileage limit or flip limit per month?

    Every Platinum tier plan allows for 2,500kms per month and 4 flips. Unused kilometers will roll over to the next month, and the first group of members will enjoy unlimited flips for the lifetime of their membership.

  • Can anyone else drive the vehicle?

    Yes, eligible drivers may be registered as Additional Drivers and added to the member’s account.

  • Are members responsible for their Portfolio by OpenRoad car?

    Yes, we expect our members to take care of Portfolio by OpenRoad vehicles as if they owned them. Please drive responsibly, keep your vehicle clean, and let us know of any minor dings or spills via the Portfolio by OpenRoad app.

  • What is the condition of Portfolio by OpenRoad vehicles?

    Portfolio by OpenRoad is committed to delivering vehicles that are in excellent condition. To that end, we use technology to ensure that the vehicles are properly maintained and driven responsibly.

  • What data does Portfolio by OpenRoad collect?
