Our Response to COVID-19

Due to rapid developments of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus, Portfolio by OpenRoad has decided to temporarily suspend all concierge-related operations in our car subscription program effective March 30, 2020 until April 20, 2020, while also taking additional precaution to ensure your safety when using our services.

It was not a decision that we took lightly, but we must uphold our social responsibility in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and implement the protocol of social distancing as set forth by the Canadian Public Health Association. The health & safety of our subscribers, staff, stakeholders, friends, and families is extremely important to us and is a top priority for our organization. Thank you for your support and patience as we navigate the uncertainty in the coming weeks through this fluid course we find ourselves in.

Portfolio will continue to operate in an "Essential-Only" model during this period of time, and not taking any new subscribers. You can find our definition of an essential flip requiring concierge service outlined below. Our digital concierge team and management will still be available for all of your future scheduling needs through our mobile concierge line.

Essential Flip Requirements

  • Malfunction — The vehicle you are currently in has a serious malfunction. Example: safety equipment not working properly, technical issues, or mechanical issues.  
  • Urgent service — The vehicle information system or mobile concierge notifies you the vehicle is due for an essential service such as oil change, liquid top-off’s, or mechanical maintenance.
  • Personal emergency — Due to family needs the vehicle you are currently in won’t work. Example: I currently am in a coupe, but NEED an SUV to shuttle family during these times.
  • Roadside assistance — You have been in an accident and have notified the digital concierge team to start the insurance claim process. We will ensure you're not stranded without a vehicle.

We look forward to a future date when our communities can be together again, and the simple enjoyments we once took for granted are restored. Please do your part in the meantime and #StayHome. We will be in communication prior to April 20 to provide an update as to our next steps. Thank you for your patience. We are all in this together.

Your Safety Is Our First Priority

At Portfolio we care about the health, safety, and well-being of our clients, staff, and those around them who they will come in contact with.

In an effort to minimize risks of spreading the recent worldwide outbreak of COVID-19, we have prepared ourselves to take some extra precautions when cleaning and preparing vehicles within our fleet. And will continue to uphold these measures of sanitation for the foreseeable future.

If you see our concierges wearing equipment such as facial masks, or gloves, please don’t be alarmed — we are doing this as an additional level of safety. Vehicles will be disinfected in great detail after every flip. We will also be providing travel bottles of hand sanitizer or disinfecting wipes within the centre console or glove boxes of our vehicles. Please use these at your leisure but do keep them in the vehicles as we want to ensure all guests are as safe as possible.
